Job Description
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for leading or assisting assignments related to treasury accounting operations for Indian and international corporates and banks. Your role will involve providing services to audit teams for reviewing derivative valuation and hedge accounting applications. Additionally, you will work on advisory, implementation, or review of hedge accounting and treasury operations areas such as foreign exchange risk management and interest rate risk management. You must have a strong understanding of newly issued accounting pronouncements and be able to implement them efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or assist in assignments for Indian and international corporates and banks in their treasury accounting operations
- Provide services to audit teams for reviewing derivative valuation and hedge accounting applications
- Assist Directors and Partners in corporate treasury assignments, including advisory, implementation, or review of hedge accounting and treasury operations areas
- Understand and implement newly issued accounting pronouncements by regulatory authorities
- Conduct advisory and reviews covering strategy, policy, governance, day-to-day operations, process improvement opportunities, and compliance to internal directives and regulatory requirements
- Take up business development initiatives, create proposals, respond to RFPs, and contribute to thought leadership
- Coach junior team members to ensure excellent client delivery and support their career development
- Interact independently with CXO level and have strong communication skills
- Must be open to travel as the position is based out of Mumbai
Qualifications Required:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 2 to 6 years of post-qualification experience in corporate treasury advisory function or corporate treasury back office/financial accounting department
- Additional qualification of Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) would be an advantage
- Strong academic record at 10th, 12th, and graduate examinations
- Relevant experience in corporate treasury, financial institutions, banks, or consulting firms focused on treasury accounting and operations
- Excellent understanding of IFRS, Indian GAAP, and US GAAP requirements related to hedge accounting and financial instrument accounting
- Hands-on experience in implementation of cash flow hedges, fair value hedges, and net investment hedges under IFRS, Indian GAAP, and US GAAP
- Practical experience in LIBOR transition provisions from operational and accounting perspectives
- Working knowledge of foreign exchange risk management, interest rate risk management, cash and liquidity management, borrowings management, and investments management
- Understanding of Spot and Derivative market operations for interest rate and foreign exchange products, including risk management and basic valuation aspects
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Power BI
- Knowledge of analytical tools like Alteryx and Tableau preferred
- Strong communication skills and leadership experience at school/college level preferable
