As a Restaurant/Hotel Cashier, your role involves handling cash, card, UPI, and online payments accurately. You will be responsible for generating and issuing bills/invoices to guests, ensuring correct pricing, taxes, and discounts are applied. It is essential to maintain the daily cash register, including opening and closing balances, and preparing daily sales and cash reports to be submitted to management. Reconciling cash, card, and UPI transactions at the end of each shift/day is a crucial part of your responsibilities. You will need to coordinate with service staff and the kitchen to ensure order accuracy and handle customer queries and billing-related complaints politely. Additionally, maintaining records of refunds, void bills, and complimentary bills with proper approvals, ensuring POS system accuracy, and reporting any system issues immediately are key aspects of your role. It is important to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cashier counter and adhere to company policies, SOPs, and audit requirements. If assigned, you may also need to support attendance, staff advances, and basic reporting.
**Qualifications Required**
- Prior experience as a cashier in a restaurant or hotel setting would be advantageous
- Proficiency in handling cash, card, UPI, and online payments
- Strong communication skills to handle customer queries and complaints effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in billing and reconciliation processes
- Familiarity with POS systems and ability to report system issues promptly
