Research & Production Engineer

As a Senior Research & Production Engineer in the healthcare industry, your role will involve supporting R&D, design for manufacturability, and production engineering activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: - Research & Development - Research new product concepts, materials, and manufacturing techniques - Design and prototype components, assemblies, and tooling using 3D CAD software - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test, validate, and improve designs - Document feasibility studies, findings, and design improvements - Design for Manufacturability (DFM) - Convert R&D prototypes into manufacturable designs - Ensure alignment with machining capabilities, tolerances, and material constraints - Develop cost-effective solutions without compromising quality - Production Engineering - Develop, implement, and optimize machining and manufacturing processes - Prepare SOPs, process sheets, and quality checklists - Support CNC programming, setup, and tool/fixture design - Quality & Continuous Improvement - Perform root cause analysis for design or production issues - Drive improvements in cost, cycle time, and product quality - Apply lean manufacturing principles and innovative methods - Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with design, production, and machining teams - Ensure smooth transition from prototype to production-scale manufacturing Skills & Competencies: - Strong experience with CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, etc.) - Hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, and manufacturing workflows - Ability to conduct experiments, test prototypes, and analyze results - Knowledge of materials, manufacturing standards, and quality systems - Analytical, innovative, and detail-oriented approach Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering or related field - 2+ years of experience in product development, prototyping, or production engineering - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment - Willingness to travel as per project or business needs Please note that this is a full-time position to be carried out in person at the Thane location.
