Remote Data Scientist (Python)

As a Senior Data Scientist at Demandbase, your role will involve architecting and building next-generation Agentic AI systems. You will be working at the intersection of advanced data science, generative AI research, and production-grade ML systems. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing and operationalizing LLM evaluation frameworks, safety guardrails, and quality metrics for multi-agent orchestration. - Developing structured evaluation pipelines to continuously enhance agent performance. - Working deeply with unstructured and semi-structured data and optimizing data pipelines using Python, Pandas, Spark, and vector databases. - Collaborating with data scientists to convert research prototypes into scalable AI systems. - Architecting modular, extensible AI systems for long-term maintainability and designing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems. - Building memory architectures and optimizing inference pipelines for performance, cost, and reliability. - Establishing monitoring for AI systems, ensuring ethical AI practices and compliance with enterprise standards. - Mentoring engineers and data scientists in advanced GenAI methodologies and driving internal thought leadership in Agentic AI and applied GenAI research. Qualifications required for this role include: - 8+ years of experience in Machine Learning, AI Engineering, or Applied Data Science. - Strong expertise in Generative AI systems and LLM architectures. - Experience designing multi-agent or tool-using AI systems. - Deep proficiency in Python and ML ecosystems (NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch/TensorFlow). - Hands-on experience with embedding models & vector databases. - Experience building production-grade AI systems from research to deployment. - MS or PhD in Computer Science, AI, ML, or related fields. Additionally, the following experiences are preferred: - Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks, automated eval frameworks, and benchmarking strategies. - Experience with vector databases and retrieval systems. - Published research or open-source contributions in AI/ML. - Strong understanding of AI safety and responsible AI practices.
