Principal Software Engineer

In this role at Dremio India, you will be responsible for leading the development and success of next-generation features for the DataLake Engine. Your focus will be on scalability, reliability, robustness, usability, security, and performance of the product. Your role will also involve collaborating with various teams to ensure customer success and proactively suggesting learning opportunities for continuous growth. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead end-to-end delivery and customer success of next-generation features related to scalability, reliability, robustness, usability, security, and performance of the product - Mentor others on concurrency, parallelization, and deliver scalability, performance, and resource optimization in a multithreaded and distributed environment - Propose and promote strategic company-wide tech investments aligning with business goals, customer requirements, and industry standards - Solve complex, unknown, and ambiguous problems and customer issues with technical expertise, influencing others - Design and deliver architectures optimized for public clouds like GCP, AWS, and Azure - Drive priorities with others to achieve timely business objectives - Perform RCA of customer issues and drive investments to prevent similar issues in the future - Collaborate with various teams to ensure customer success and suggest learning opportunities for continuous growth **Qualifications Required:** - B.S./M.S/Equivalent in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent experience - Fluency in Java/C++ with 15+ years of experience in developing production-level software - Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded and asynchronous programming models for developing distributed and scalable systems - 8+ years of experience in developing complex and scalable distributed systems, delivering, deploying, and managing microservices successfully - Subject Matter Expertise in query processing or optimization, distributed systems, concurrency, micro service-based architectures, data replication, networking, storage systems - Experience in company-wide initiatives, stakeholder convincing, and successful delivery - Ability to anticipate and propose plan/design changes based on evolving requirements - Passion for quality, zero downtime upgrades, availability, resiliency, and uptime of the platform - Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP, containers, Kubernetes, and distributed file systems like S3, ADLS, or HDFS - Excellent communication skills and a strong affinity for collaboration and teamwork In this role at Dremio India, you will be responsible for leading the development and success of next-generation features for the DataLake Engine.
