Principal Software Engineer (Backend)

Role Overview: You will be joining as a Senior Backend Engineer, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end features and ensuring best practices in testing and troubleshooting complex LIVE production issues. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs. - Build and optimize distributed systems focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Frontend, Product, DevOps) to deliver end-to-end features. - Design efficient SQL schemas, indexes, and optimize queries for performance. - Conduct code reviews and improve engineering standards and practices. - Own features across the lifecycle: design implementation deployment monitoring. - Ensure best practices in testing, including unit and functional testing. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex LIVE production issues. Qualification Required: - 5+ years of professional backend software development experience. - Strong proficiency in any one backend language: Java / Go / Rust. - Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs. - Strong understanding of system design, scalability, distributed systems, and high-performance architectures. - Hands-on experience with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL): schema design, indexing, query optimization. - Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures. - Clear understanding of version control (Git). - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance. - Ability to troubleshoot production issues under pressure. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field. - Strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, concurrency, network basics).
