Hospital Billing Payment Posting Specialist
1. Strong Experience in Manual and Lockbox Payment Posting
Candidates must have extensive hands-on experience in:
Posting manual batches
Posting lockbox payments
They should be comfortable handling end-to-end payment posting processes with high accuracy.
2. Expertise in Posting Hospital Billing (HB) Claims
The candidate must have prior experience specifically in:
Posting HB claims
Understanding the nuances and workflows involved in hospital claim payment posting
3. Ability to Identify and Resolve Payment Mismatches
Candidates should be capable of:
Identifying reasons why the posted amount does not match the total check amount
Investigating variances (e.g., adjustments, takebacks, missing EOB data)
Finding the actual reason for discrepancies and ensuring the batch balances/tallies correctly
This ability is crucial for accurate financial posting and reconciliation.
4. Experience with Hospital Financial Reconciliation Systems
Candidates must have prior experience working with financial reconciliation platforms commonly used in healthcare settings, such as:
Quick Base
FinThrive
Or similar hospital reconciliation tools
This ensures familiarity with backend reconciliation workflows and reporting.
5. Experience with Payer & Bank Portals
Experience in working on payer and bank portals is required, including but not limited to:
Availity
Zelis
Echo
Payspan
PNC
Other similar payer and bank portals
