Job Description
Role Overview:
As a Level 2 Network Engineer in the Operations Team, your primary responsibility will be to oversee network performance, troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents, configure and implement network solutions, ensure security and compliance, collaborate with teams, provide mentorship, maintain documentation, contribute strategically, and manage disaster recovery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced Network Monitoring and Optimization:
- Oversee network performance and configurations across various environments.
- Manage Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus, and other network elements.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks proactively.
- Monitor and maintain network health, resolving issues related to switches and routing.
- Complex Troubleshooting and Incident Resolution:
- Serve as an escalation point for Level 1 engineers.
- Diagnose and resolve advanced incidents related to firewalls, DNS, and SD-WAN.
- Troubleshoot routing protocols and network-related application issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Network Configuration and Implementation:
- Design and implement configurations for firewalls, load balancers, and SD-WAN.
- Assist in network upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Ensure high availability and redundancy of network components.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and manage firewall rules and VPNs.
- Ensure compliance with security standards through audits and assessments.
- Support Zscaler policy configuration and integration.
- Collaboration and Mentorship:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for network changes.
- Mentor Level 1 engineers to improve their skills.
- Engage with vendors for support and updates.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed technical documentation for network infrastructure.
- Generate reports on network performance and incident resolution.
- Update network topology diagrams and records.
- Strategic Contributions:
- Participate in network architecture design discussions.
- Recommend new tools and technologies for operational efficiency.
- Lead small-scale network optimization projects.
- Disaster Recovery and Backup:
- Manage backup and restoration processes for network devices.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution.
Qualification Required:
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Cisco Meraki, FortiGate, Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus, SD-WAN, Zscaler, load balancers, BGP, OSPF, and Cisco ISE.
- Tools And Platforms:
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Familiarity with firewall management systems and SD-WAN controllers.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- CCNP, Fortinet NSE 5 or above, Zscaler ZCE, NetScaler certifications.
