MYSQL Database Administrator

As a MySQL Database Administrator working in an operations team of MySQL DBA's at Data Intensity, your role involves delivering high-quality business services to both cloud-hosted and remotely managed customers. Your responsibilities include: - Administering MySQL environments globally within a matrix support and management model. - Overseeing ticket queue and ensuring SLA performance. - Supporting various database service models for DI customer base on a 24x7 rotating shift model. - Contributing to resolving database-related issues and outages. - Collaborating with the monitoring team to maintain and improve database monitoring. - Managing and delivering multiple projects within expected due dates. - Coordinating work between multiple global teams. - Communicating within cross-functional and global teams for optimal performance. - Following the DI Change Management process, P0 and P1 escalation process, and security management program. - Participating in the Data Intensity RCA process. - Evaluating patching requests and communicating constraints, risks, issues, and timelines. - Handling customer communications through various channels. - Performing other functions and duties as assigned. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred OR equivalent combination of education and experience. - MySQL and Cloud certifications preferred. - 1-3+ years of direct hands-on DBA support for MySQL. - Expertise in all major versions of MySQL, including Oracle, Percona, MariaDB. - Operational DBA expertise in Replication, Log shipping, High Availability, and Backup/Recovery. - Performance-tuning skills, maintenance/patching mechanics expertise, and SQL and Linux scripting skills. - Strong communication skills, English proficiency, and Microsoft product proficiency. You are the best candidate if you have: - 3+ years of experience in a services company. - MySQL, ITIL Foundation, and Cloud certifications preferred. - Experience with Code Migration tools, Linux and Windows system administration, and AWS and Azure Cloud.
