Job Description
As a Manager Property Accounting with our US-based fully integrated real estate investment and development firm, your role will involve overseeing the financial operations of our properties in the US while working remotely from India. Your strong background in property accounting, along with being a qualified CA/CPA with at least 5 years of relevant experience, will be essential for managing the financial strategy, planning, and operations of the company's properties. You will collaborate closely with the CEO, CFO, and other senior management to ensure the company's financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Property Accounting:
- Manage all aspects of property accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the companys goals.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling for all US properties.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and senior management based on financial analysis and projections.
- Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Monitor cash flow, manage liquidity, and ensure the availability of funds for operations and investments.
- Oversee treasury functions including banking relationships, loan compliance, and interest rate risk management.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Lead the internal audit process and ensure the integrity of the financial reporting system.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks to safeguard the companys assets.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor a remote finance team, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
- Foster a collaborative working environment and promote cross-functional teamwork.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel as necessary.
- Present financial reports and insights to stakeholders, including the board of directors, investors, and lenders.
- Technology & Systems:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software.
- Leverage technology to streamline financial operations and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on US property accounting and financial management.
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and experience working with US-based companies.
- Proven experience in managing remote teams.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the real estate industry.
- Familiarity with US federal and state tax regulations related to real estate.
- Previous experience working with multinational companies.
