Job Description
As a Lead Telecom Network Architect at our client, a rapidly expanding telecommunications provider in Pune, Maharashtra, IN, your role will involve designing and overseeing the development of next-generation network infrastructure. You will need a deep understanding of current and emerging telecom technologies, strong leadership skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. The position offers a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the architectural design and evolution of the company's core and access networks, encompassing mobile, fixed, and data services.
- Develop long-term network strategies and roadmaps, anticipating future technological advancements and market demands.
- Evaluate and select new network technologies, equipment, and solutions from various vendors.
- Create high-level and detailed network designs, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of network architectures.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to network engineering teams.
- Define network performance metrics, monitoring strategies, and capacity planning processes.
- Ensure network designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct architectural reviews and provide recommendations for network optimization and enhancement.
- Manage relationships with key technology partners and vendors.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including standards, principles, and guidelines.
- Analyze network traffic patterns and predict future capacity needs.
- Mentor junior architects and engineers, fostering technical growth within the team.
- Stay abreast of competitive landscape and emerging trends in the telecommunications industry.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in telecommunications network design and architecture.
- Extensive knowledge of IP networking, MPLS, SDN/NFV, 5G architecture, and cloud-native network functions.
- Proven experience designing large-scale mobile (4G/5G) and fixed-line networks.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in mentoring technical teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience with network simulation and modeling tools.
- Vendor management experience is essential.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines in a network context is a plus.
