Job Description
As an Analytic Consultant/Data Scientist at Wells Fargo, your role involves delivering high-impact analytic and data science projects to support operational risk initiatives across the Chief Operating Office organization. You will be part of the central analytics group, AIM (AI Innovation and Modeling), focused on solving business challenges and building cutting-edge analytical capabilities for the Wells Fargo analytic community. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working individually or as part of a team on data science projects and collaborating closely with business partners.
- Leading a small group of junior data scientists and serving as a technical lead for enterprise-grade Gen AI programs.
- Developing statistical/machine learning/GenAI models using various techniques and technologies such as SAS, R, Python, Spark, H2O, Aster, etc.
- Collaborating with data engineers, BI specialists, and UI specialists to deliver high-quality analytical solutions for the bank.
- Defining business problems and translating them into analytical problems.
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- 8+ years of experience in data science and analytics with hands-on knowledge of related tools and technologies.
- Deep expertise in machine learning and deep learning, including model selection, training dynamics, overfitting, and evaluation tradeoffs.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering and LLM behavior control, including structured prompting, chain-of-thought, robustness, and security considerations.
- Ability to design and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using embeddings, vector databases, chunking, and reranking techniques.
- Experience in model evaluation, monitoring, and Responsible AI, covering bias, hallucination mitigation, governance, and human-in-the-loop validation.
- Strong MLOps/LLMOps capabilities, including model lifecycle management, experiment tracking, deployment, cost control, and latency optimization.
- Proficiency in Python-based data science and software engineering, with experience integrating GenAI into scalable, production-grade systems.
- Expertise in exploratory data analysis using Python/R/SAS/SQL.
- Familiarity with databases like Oracle, Teradata, and SQL Server.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Data integration and cleaning up data for usage.
