Lead ML / Data Scientist

You will be working as a 'Generative AI Expert' in the department of Product Innovation & Customer Experience (PIC) at Deutsche Telekom. Your role will involve being a part of the Generative AI center of expertise with the mission of exploring cutting-edge Generative AI technologies to develop new products that offer superior customer experience and enhance internal efficiency. The goal is to establish Deutsche Telekom as a leader in the industry by leveraging the power of Generative AI. You should have extensive expertise and hands-on experience in developing and orchestrating Generative AI models, particularly in large language / transformer models and cloud-based development. Acting fast and being results-driven are key attributes required for this role. You will collaborate with an international team of senior experts in Generative AI, with opportunities for learning and networking at industry and academic events. Your key responsibilities will include: - Developing innovative products, services, and internal efficiency solutions based on Generative AI technologies - Leveraging customer and other data securely and privacy-compliantly to build products and services at scale for millions of customers across multiple countries - Providing guidance on using cutting-edge Generative AI technologies to build telco-grade, highly scalable products and executing the AI/data science components of product/service developments - Building products/services using external Generative AI technology and developing/enhancing own Generative AI models - Collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment and acting as a trusted advisor on technical guidance related to Generative AI and AI more broadly Qualifications required for this role: - 2+ years of experience in Generative AI technologies and 7+ years of experience in data science - Experience in building scaling products based on Generative AI technologies and solid software development skills - Strong knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, etc. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics in simple language - Experience working in multi-cultural environments and virtual settings across globally distributed teams - Creative thinking to optimize Generative AI models and products and balance AI and product development with ethical considerations In addition to the above, you should have expertise in: - Deep Learning, Neural Networks, and Generative Models - Text Classification, Sentiment Analysis, Information Retrieval, Machine Translation, and Conversational AI systems Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and data manipulation libraries like NumPy and Pandas is also required. A PhD in machine learning or a related field is highly welcome. Fluency in English is a must for this role.
