**Role Overview:**
As a Lead Data Scientist at Mastercard, you will play a crucial role in driving the evolution of Advanced Analytics products with a focus on data science and engineering. You will work across various teams to develop and deliver truly differentiated Credit products by leveraging rich data resources and AI platform capabilities. Your primary responsibilities will involve participating in the exploration and development of data science for product development, evaluating AI/ML techniques, continuously innovating to solve business problems, and collaborating with internal teams to determine high-priority data science problems in a customer-centric framework. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership to junior colleagues and drive product improvement opportunities.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Drive the evolution of Advanced Analytics products with a focus on data science and engineering
- Participate in the exploration, application, and development of data science for product development
- Identify and evaluate AI/ML techniques and tools for delivering models and analytics
- Continuously innovate and determine new data science approaches & technologies
- Partner with various teams to determine high-priority data science problems
- Break large solutions into smaller, releasable milestones for feedback
- Evangelize releases to users and track usage for future development
- Provide technical leadership to junior colleagues
- Prioritize operational activities and focus on key drivers of organization value
**Qualifications Required:**
- Prior experience in a data science product development role
- Strong hands-on experience in Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Advanced Statistics
- Proficiency in Python, Spark, SQL, R, and ability to navigate multiple languages
- Experience with Hadoop big data tools (Hive, Impala, Spark) or Databricks preferred
- Strong project management skills and ability to meet business deadlines
- Curiosity, creativity, and excitement for technology and innovation
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills
- Master's degree preferred in Quantitative discipline (Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering)
- 7-10 years of experience in Data Science supporting Products
