Job Description
As a Lead Business Functional Analyst (VP) at Deutsche Bank in Pune, India, you will play a vital role in shaping the product strategy, maintaining a clear roadmap, and driving high-quality delivery across cross-functional teams. You will collaborate closely with business, technology, and control partners to bring impactful solutions to life while fostering a collaborative, outcome-oriented culture.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Own and manage the product backlog, lead the refinement process, and own the value realization and measurement for product goals through various metrics and KPIs.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, drive development of the solution, manage dependencies across teams and value streams, and align teams against a common vision.
- Manage and analyze the product in the marketplace, define and develop future releases, and manage the business case for change initiatives.
- Conduct detailed data analysis to support decision-making, validate requirements, troubleshoot issues, and define minimal viable products (MVP).
- Write and maintain high-quality Epics, Features, and User Stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria, including facilitating and contributing to backlog grooming, sprint planning, and other ceremonies.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including requirements, process flows, and user guides, ensuring accuracy, up-to-date information, and accessibility to relevant stakeholders.
- Use data querying and analytical techniques to support data understanding and create reports and actionable intelligence.
- Guide and support a small team, providing coaching, feedback, and task coordination.
**Qualifications Required:**
- Over 10+ years of hands-on experience in technical and functional analysis, ideally within financial services or banking.
- Strong expertise in reference data (party, account), payments, messaging protocols (including SWIFT), and data governance.
- Solid understanding of data technologies such as APIs, data flows, data models, multi-tier systems, and integration challenges.
- Demonstrated excellence in product backlog management and experience working with cloud or hybrid platforms.
- Strong working proficiency in tools like Jira, Confluence, BigQuery, and programming languages like Python and SQL for Cloud/Big Data environments.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and master/reference data management.
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with senior stakeholders and technical teams.
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and lead junior team members.
- Ownership mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality, production-ready solutions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to interface and converse at both junior and senior levels and with technical and non-IT staff.
