Job Description
As a Network Support Engineer L2, you will be responsible for providing support for enterprise network infrastructure with a focus on Juniper and Cisco technologies. Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving incidents, managing network devices, monitoring performance, implementing network practices, and ensuring network availability and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2-level support for routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN/LAN technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to routing, switching, VPN, MPLS, and network security.
- Manage Juniper and Cisco network devices including configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization.
- Monitor network performance, analyze logs, and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with L3 engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve advanced network problems.
- Implement standard network practices, security policies, and change management procedures.
- Support various routing protocols such as VLAN, VTP, STP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP.
- Maintain documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting workflows.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and on-call rotation.
- Ensure network availability, reliability, and security in enterprise environments.
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network support with expertise in Juniper and Cisco technologies.
- Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, VTP, MPLS.
- Proficient in troubleshooting LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, VPNs, and network performance issues.
- Hands-on experience with Juniper firewalls, Cisco routers, and L2/L3 switches.
- Familiarity with network administration, configuration management, and security best practices.
- Relevant certifications such as Juniper Certification (JNCIA/JNCIS), CCNA, or CCNP (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced, customer-focused environments.
