Job Description

As an L2 Network Operations Engineer specializing in LAN Switching, Wireless, and Cisco ISE, your role will involve providing advanced support for the enterprise internal network. You will be the technical escalation point for L1 support, responsible for handling complex incidents, troubleshooting, and executing changes under strict change management processes to ensure secure and stable internal connectivity. Key Responsibilities: - Resolve complex Layer 2 issues including Spanning Tree (STP) loops, VLAN mismatches, and broadcast storms. - Analyze physical layer faults such as CRC errors, duplex mismatches, and port flapping. - Execute changes under the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process, such as creating new VLANs and configuring EtherChannels. - Assist the L3 team with switch IOS upgrades, stack provisioning, and hardware refreshes. For Wireless Operations: - Resolve escalated user issues regarding AP flapping, interference, coverage holes, and roaming failures. - Troubleshoot Client-to-AP and AP-to-Controller connectivity. - Implement changes to SSIDs, QoS profiles, and RF group tuning based on site survey data. Regarding Cisco ISE and NAC Operations: - Analyze ISE Live Logs and RADIUS details for security troubleshooting. - Troubleshoot MAB and Dot1x issues for wired and wireless clients. - Validate correct device profiling and policy application. Technical Skills Required: - Deep knowledge of VLANs, Trunking, Spanning Tree, and EtherChannel. - Basic knowledge of OSPF and BGP. - Strong understanding of RF Fundamentals, roaming behavior, and WLC architectures. - Ability to read RADIUS/TACACS+ logs and troubleshoot CoA. - Proficiency in Wireshark, SolarWinds, and CLI commands. Soft Skills & Qualifications: - Strong RCA mindset with a commitment to clear documentation. - Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and mentor support staff. - Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent. - 46 years of hands-on experience in Enterprise Network Operations.
