Job Description
As a Network Engineer, your role will involve:
- Designing, planning, implementing, migrating, and troubleshooting networks.
- Handling Incident, Change, and Problem tickets, and contributing to major incidents.
- Leading and mentoring the L2 Network Team, providing technical and process training.
- Managing LAN, WAN, and WLAN equipment from various vendors.
- Upgrading network hardware and software, detecting firmware vulnerabilities using tools like Cisco Total Care, Rapid7, SolarWinds NCM Module.
- Creating upgrade plans, processes, and automating tasks for switches, routers, firewalls, FTD, FMC, WAN Optimizers.
- Configuring and troubleshooting VLANs, Private VLANs, VTP-v3, STP, PVSTP, RSTP, MST, EtherChannel, UDLD, SPAN, RSPAN, DAI, IP Source Guard, SNMP, NTP, STORM CONTROL, Port-Security, SWITCH STACK, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, AAA, Dot1x, MAB, SNMP, DHCP, DHCP Snooping, etc.
- Router configuration with static and dynamic routing protocols RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, Route Redistribution, Route summarization, Route-maps, Access-lists, Prefix-lists, NetFlow, IPLA, VRF, etc.
- Firewall configuration including GRE, IPsec, NAT, PAT, SFR Installation, Access Control Policy, Prefilter, Intrusion, Malware and File, SSL, Identity, etc.
- Troubleshooting skills on SDA, LAN segmentation, Cisco Wireless Access Points, Cisco Wireless Controllers, Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, Meraki wireless.
Preferred qualifications for this role include:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise network environments with L3-level support.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of Cisco switch configuration technologies such as STP, VTP, Port-channel, SNMP, Access-list.
- Understanding of routing protocols like Static, OSPF, BGP, Redistribution.
- Familiarity with Fortinet/FortiGate and Cisco ASA Firewall.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Wireless technology and network issue troubleshooting skills. As a Network Engineer, your role will involve:
