Job Description
As a Systems Analyst at Jeppesen ForeFlight, you will be working on different software solutions for commercial airlines. Your role will involve the development of the configuration layer, testing, documentation, and maintenance of crew and ops management applications to meet customer, functional, and regulatory requirements. You will have the opportunity to contribute to client projects by configuring and customizing crew and ops management applications using XML, Python, and the proprietary RAVE language. It is essential to follow a test-driven development methodology to ensure top quality, developing automated test cases alongside coding. Additionally, you will be responsible for explaining system features and customer-specific configurations to clients in a clear and confident manner, managing client expectations, and fostering long-term relationships. Occasional travel to visit clients may be required as part of your responsibilities.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop the configuration layer, conduct testing, documentation, and maintenance of crew and ops management applications
- Configure and customize crew and ops management applications using XML, Python, and RAVE language
- Follow a test-driven development methodology to ensure quality by developing automated test cases
- Explain system features and customer-specific configurations to clients effectively
- Manage client expectations and build long-term client relationships
- Occasional travel to visit clients
**Qualifications Required:**
- At least 2+ years of software development / programming / implementation experience with Python
- At least 1+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment
- Experience with Git
- Experience in airline operations or airline IT, ideally with crew management
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Experience working within a Scrum team or in similar Agile project setups
- Experience with interfaces and data integration, XML, XSD
- Experience with database configuration, big data
- Experience with building pipelines, using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins
- Experience with virtual machine, using tools such as Vagrant and VirtualBox
