IT Network Engineer

As a Global Network Management Engineer (Monitor & Control) at Motorola Solutions, your role will be crucial in implementing proactive network management strategies using advanced tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to predict and resolve network issues before they become critical. Your responsibilities will include supporting, installing, configuring, and evaluating LAN, WAN, and telecommunications hardware and software. You will also play a key role in maintaining technical expertise in network and computer hardware, establishing network architecture standards, and providing capacity planning and monitoring. Key Responsibilities: - Implement proactive network management strategies using advanced tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to predict and resolve network issues - Support, install, configure, and evaluate LAN, WAN, and telecommunications hardware and software - Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing - Establish and document standards for network architecture and ensure total network integration - Provide capacity planning and monitoring Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of hands-on experience in building and maintaining enterprise-level network management - 2 years of experience working with LAN/WAN networks, routers, switches, and network configurations - Experience working with Security & Firewall systems - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience - Practical experience with a wide range of network management and monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, Cisco SD-WAN, ThousandEyes, nGeniusPULSE, etc.) - Practical experience writing scripts for network automations - Practical experience with APM tools - Proven experience in deploying and managing AI/ML-driven network management platforms - Strong understanding of scripting for network automation and Net DevOps (e.g., Ansible, Python) - Experience with cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) - Demonstrated ability to design and implement a global network monitoring architecture Motorola Solutions is a people-first and community-focused organization, dedicated to empowering every employee to be their authentic selves and deliver their best work to create a safer world.
