Job Description
As an IT Hardware Engineer at our hospital, your role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting all computer hardware, networking devices, and related IT equipment to ensure the smooth functioning of hospital information systems, medical IT devices, and network infrastructure supporting clinical and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hardware Installation & Maintenance
- Install and configure desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT hardware.
- Perform regular maintenance and upgrades of computer systems.
- Replace faulty hardware components to minimize downtime.
- Network Support
- Support LAN/WAN network connectivity within the hospital.
- Install and maintain switches, routers, and network cables.
- Troubleshoot network issues affecting hospital departments.
- Medical Equipment IT Support
- Provide IT support for medical devices connected to hospital systems (PACS, lab systems, monitoring devices, etc.).
- Coordinate with biomedical engineers and vendors for device integration.
- Software & System Support
- Install operating systems, drivers, and basic software.
- Support Hospital Management System (HMS) users with hardware-related issues.
- Ensure systems are updated and functioning properly.
- Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Provide on-site and remote support for staff IT issues.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and peripheral problems.
- Maintain helpdesk tickets and service logs.
- Data Security & Backup
- Ensure secure handling of hospital systems and hardware.
- Support IT team in data backup processes.
- Maintain antivirus and system security updates.
- Inventory & Documentation
- Maintain records of IT assets and hardware inventory.
- Track hardware warranty, repairs, and replacements.
- Prepare reports on IT hardware status and usage.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, IT, or Hardware & Networking.
- Certifications like A+, N+, CCNA (preferred).
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware troubleshooting.
- Basic networking knowledge (LAN/WAN, IP configuration).
- Familiarity with Windows OS, printers, and peripherals.
- Ability to support hospital software systems.
- Problem-solving and technical support skills.
