Job Description
As an experienced Cyber Security Lead at Weekday's client, your role involves driving enterprise-wide data privacy and governance-focused security initiatives aligned with regulatory frameworks such as DPDPA and IRDAI guidelines. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and governing robust data protection controls to safeguard sensitive information across the organization. Acting as a strategic bridge between the DPO office, CISO function, IT teams, and external vendors, you will ensure security and privacy-by-design principles are embedded into technology systems, processes, and third-party engagements. Your expertise in information security, regulatory compliance, risk management, and governance within the Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance sectors will be essential in strengthening the data protection posture, enhancing monitoring capabilities, and supporting regulatory readiness initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, implement, and enforce enterprise data security and privacy policies, including encryption, access controls, data minimization, and retention frameworks
- Ensure the implementation of privacy and security tools in line with regulatory and internal policy requirements
- Coordinate with IT, infrastructure, application, and vendor teams for the deployment of security controls and tools
- Review and validate cybersecurity and data protection clauses in third-party and vendor agreements
- Govern data security controls to align with enterprise data privacy objectives
- Represent Cyber Security in data privacy and governance forums and drive action items post-review
- Oversee strategies to secure data at rest and in transit
- Lead integration of data privacy tools with SIEM platforms, define monitoring use cases, alerts, and incident response playbooks
- Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance assurance activities
- Drive risk assessments, policy enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives
**Qualifications Required:**
- 8+ years of experience in Information Security and/or Data Privacy, preferably within BFSI environments
- Proven expertise in risk management, policy drafting, audit management, and vendor governance
- Hands-on experience implementing data protection controls and security monitoring frameworks
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and enterprise security architecture
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders including CISO, DPO, Legal, IT, and Business teams
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
