Job Description
As a Senior Nurse in the LDR & OBG department at Manipal Hospitals, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality and compassionate care to women and infants during the labor and delivery process. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of mothers and babies, and provide support and education to new mothers as they navigate the challenges of childbirth and postpartum care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to pregnant women during labor and delivery
- Monitor fetal heart rate and uterine contractions
- Assist with medical interventions such as epidurals and cesarean sections
- Educate patients on childbirth preparation and postpartum care
- Administer medications and assist with pain management
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during childbirth and postpartum recovery
- Oversee and mentor junior nursing staff
Qualifications:
- Diploma / Degree in Nursing
- Current RN license
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in labor and delivery and/or obstetrics and gynecology
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of labor and delivery processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
