**Job Description:** As the Head of Department (HOD) Science at Harvest International School Kodathi Sarjapur, reporting directly to the Principal, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing the Science Department consisting of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Science in alignment with CBSE curriculum guidelines. Your primary responsibilities include ensuring high academic standards, effective teaching methodologies, curriculum planning, laboratory management, and continuous improvement in student performance. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Academic Leadership:** - Plan, implement, and monitor the CBSE Science curriculum across classes. - Ensure compliance with CBSE norms, guidelines, and assessment patterns. - Lead lesson planning, annual academic planning, and syllabus completion. - Monitor classroom teaching quality and provide feedback to teachers. - Promote innovative and experiential learning methods. - **Department Management:** - Supervise Science teachers and lab assistants. - Conduct regular departmental meetings. - Allocate workload and teaching schedules. - Mentor and support teachers for professional growth. - Facilitate teacher training and development programs. - **Student Performance & Assessment:** - Monitor student academic progress and board results. - Analyse examination results and implement improvement strategies. - Organize remedial and enrichment programs. - Guide students for Olympiads, NTSE, Science exhibitions, and competitive exams. - **Laboratory & Resource Management:** - Ensure proper maintenance and safety of Science laboratories. - Oversee procurement of lab equipment, chemicals, and teaching aids. - Maintain stock registers and safety compliance. - Ensure practical examinations are conducted as per CBSE norms. - **Curriculum & Innovation:** - Integrate STEM activities, projects, and research-based learning. - Promote interdisciplinary projects and practical applications. - Organize Science fairs, exhibitions, and workshops. - **Compliance & Documentation:** - Maintain departmental records and documentation. - Ensure adherence to CBSE academic calendar and policies. - Prepare reports as required by school management. - **Parent & School Coordination:** - Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs). - Address academic concerns of parents and students. - Coordinate with other departments for integrated learning. **Qualifications & Experience:** - Masters Degree (M.Sc.) in Science (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) with B.Ed. - Minimum 58 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school. - Prior leadership experience preferred. - Strong knowledge of CBSE curriculum and assessment framework. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. **Key Skills:** - Leadership & Team Management - Academic Planning - Curriculum Development - Laboratory Management - Result Analysis - Problem-Solving & Decision Making - Strong Communication Skills **Job Description:** As the Head of Department (HOD) Science at Harvest International School Kodathi Sarjapur, reporting directly to the Principal, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing the Science Department consisting of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Science in alignment with CBSE curriculum guidelines.
