Job Description
As the Head - Dealer Development at an Indian Electric Vehicle Company, your role involves overseeing the growth and management of the dealer development network for the company. You will play a crucial part in expanding the market presence by onboarding dealer partners, ensuring alignment with company objectives, and maintaining brand standards across all dealership locations.
**Responsibilities:**
**Dealer Network Expansion:**
- Identify and engage in discussions with potential dealership prospects within designated territories.
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit new dealerships in line with company objectives and market demand.
- Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities and gaps in the current dealer network.
- Follow up diligently for partner due diligence during onboarding.
- Ensure adherence to timelines for infrastructure construction and opening of dealerships as per approved Architecture Plans.
**Relationship Management:**
- Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with existing dealerships and establish a network of prospective partners.
- Provide continuous support and training to dealerships on product knowledge, sales techniques, and operational best practices.
- Collaborate closely with regional sales teams to align dealer management strategies and sales goals.
**Operations, Performance Monitoring, Training, and Optimization:**
- Establish processes for facility plan development and execution.
- Monitor and analyze dealer performance metrics, including sales targets, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction ratings.
- Develop action plans to address underperforming dealerships and drive sales and profitability.
**Contract Negotiation and Compliance:**
- Negotiate dealership agreements and contracts, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Ensure dealerships adhere to CI norms, brand standards, operational guidelines, and regulatory compliance.
**Market Insights and Strategy:**
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.
- Utilize market insights to recommend strategic initiatives and improvements to dealer development strategies.
**Reporting and Documentation:**
- Maintain accurate records of dealer interactions, contracts, and performance metrics.
- Conduct regular audits and prepare timely reports and presentations for senior management on dealer network performance and growth initiatives.
**Skills:**
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and market trends for strategic decision-making.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Willingness to travel frequently to visit dealerships.

**Requirements:**

- Proven track record in dealer development, sales management, or similar roles within Automotive/High-End Luxury Retail Products/FMCG/FMCD/Retail/Lubricants or similar industries for B2C businesses (12+ years).
- Preferably experienced in setting up National or International Channels/New Dealer development within Startups or Global organizations and creating brand visibility from scratch.
