Job Description
As a Mechatronics engineer in this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support to field process engineers and product support personnel in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and software issues on robotics systems. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support for robotic systems at customer sites and utilizing DOE methodologies to troubleshoot technical challenges
- Engaging in robotic path programming and computer vision to enhance system performance
- Responding to situations where initial product support efforts have failed to resolve problems related to process capability gaps
- Supporting customer tool process qualification training and BKM document creation
- Taking strong ownership of assigned tasks and projects ensuring accountability throughout the design and solution release process
- Training and leading other engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel
- Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to obtain necessary information and achieve desired results
- Being onsite in Bangalore, India for 3 to 5 days per week with 15 to 20 travel
In terms of qualifications, you should have:
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, 4 years with a Master's degree, 1 year with a PhD, or equivalent experience in Mechatronics, Robotics, or a similar field
- Creative thinking, strong problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities
- Experience in robotic hardware design and end effector application development
- Proficiency in maintaining and integrating robotic hardware and software components for seamless operation
- Ability to program and control 6DOF robots integrating sensors and actuators for optimal performance
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and troubleshoot cutting-edge end effectors
- Understanding of CAD software like Solidworks, NX, and Creo
- Proficiency in ROS, Python, SQL, OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and React
- Strong knowledge of network communication protocols and computer vision technologies
