Job Description
Role Overview:
As the Global Head of Cyber Defence at Apex Group, you will play a crucial role in building, managing, and enhancing the cybersecurity posture of the organization. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Information Security Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the global security operations center, improving incident detection and response capabilities, and ensuring that Apex Group has the necessary people, processes, and technologies to effectively combat cyber threats in today's dynamic landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute Apex's global cyber defence strategy in alignment with risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and business priorities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to regional cyber defence teams, fostering a strong security culture and consistent operating model.
- Act as a senior cybersecurity leader and advisor to executive management and governance forums.
- Lead and coordinate response efforts with SOC Analysts, Head of SOC, and other stakeholders during cyber incidents.
- Stay updated on evolving threats, vulnerabilities, tools, and technologies to enhance detection and response capabilities.
- Create and refine standard operating procedures for incident response and threat detection.
- Enhance detection capabilities within the SIEM by identifying and improving detection use cases using scripting languages.
- Oversee global security operations, threat intelligence, and continuous monitoring.
- Manage Apex's cyber incident response capability, ensuring preparedness and rapid response to cyber events.
- Strengthen cyber resilience through vulnerability management, attack surface reduction, and defensive controls.
- Engage with regulators, clients, and external partners on cyber defence matters.
- Build and maintain a high-performing global cyber defence team with strong technical depth and leadership capability.
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of cybersecurity experience, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
- Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC preferred.
