As a Full-Stack Software Developer at WSP's GCC Mining team, you will play a crucial role in expanding the digital and automation capabilities to support global mining operations. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and deploy custom engineering automation tools, data-driven applications, and internal platforms used by multidisciplinary mining teams worldwide. **Responsibilities:** - **Software Development & Architecture:** - Design and develop end-to-end full-stack applications for internal engineering automation tools and dashboards. - Build robust backend systems for computational workflows, data processing, and engineering logic integration. - Develop intuitive frontend user interfaces for technical users (engineers and analysts). - Architect modular, maintainable, and scalable software solutions aligned with enterprise standards. - **Automation & Engineering Tool Development:** - Convert engineering spreadsheets, workflows, and manual calculations into automated software tools. - Integrate engineering models, numerical outputs, and risk assessment logic into production-grade applications. - Support development of tools related to mine waste and tailings management, water balance and mine water modelling, stability screening, and risk assessment, and internal decision-support platforms. - **Data Integration & Visualization:** - Develop APIs and data pipelines to integrate Excel-based datasets, engineering databases, cloud storage, and internal repositories. - Build interactive dashboards and visualization tools for engineering KPIs, monitoring datasets, risk metrics, and summaries. - **Collaboration & Delivery:** - Work closely with engineering domain experts to understand technical workflows and translate them into software solutions. - Participate in agile project delivery, sprint planning, testing, and documentation. - Ensure high standards of code quality, security, performance, and maintainability. **Qualifications:** **Required Technical Skills:** - **Backend Development:** - Strong proficiency in Python (preferred) or equivalent backend languages. - Experience with REST API development (FastAPI / Flask / Django), data processing, and automation workflows, and engineering computation integration. - **Frontend Development:** - Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React / Angular / Vue (preferred). - Strong UI/UX implementation skills for data-heavy applications. - Experience building dashboards and interactive interfaces. - **Database & Data Handling:** - Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB preferred). - Handling structured engineering datasets and large files. - **DevOps & Deployment:** - Experience with Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP acceptable), and application deployment and packaging (Docker preferred). **Good to Have (Highly Desirable):** - Experience working on engineering, scientific, or technical software products. - Familiarity with data visualization libraries (e.g., Plotly, D3.js, Power BI integration), numerical computation libraries, desktop tools (PyQt / Electron), machine learning or analytics integration, and understanding of engineering workflows. **Soft Skills & Professional Attributes:** - Strong problem-solving mindset. - Ability to translate complex technical requirements into software logic. - Excellent communication skills for working with multidisciplinary engineering teams. - Ownership mindset with high accountability. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple parallel projects.
