Front-End / UX Developer

As a Frontend Developer at Austyn team in Syngenta Group, you will play a crucial role in building high-performance, intelligent user interfaces for Syngenta's AI assistant platform. Your primary responsibilities will include: - Building and maintaining scalable web applications using Next.js and TypeScript, focusing on performance, bundle size, and code quality. - Implementing real-time streaming endpoints (SSE) to enable live AI interactions in the user interface. - Designing fluid and responsive AI-powered interfaces with exceptional UX, including streaming text, audio playback, and image generation UIs. - Creating pixel-perfect and responsive layouts using Tailwind CSS. - Optimizing bundle size, load times, rendering performance, and runtime efficiency. - Writing unit and integration tests to ensure reliability and maintainability. - Collaborating closely with backend engineers and data scientists for seamless feature integration. You should have expertise in: - Expert-level TypeScript and modern React, with a focus on performance optimization. - Next.js features like App Router, SSR/SSG/ISR, Server Components, Edge Runtime, Streaming, Suspense, middleware, and image optimization. - Redux Toolkit, Zustand, and context API for state management. - Styling and UI design principles including Tailwind CSS, responsive breakpoints, and custom theme configuration. - AI Interface Design concepts such as progressive rendering, conversational UI/UX patterns, and error handling for AI failures. - Testing tools like Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress, and experience with WebSocket-based real-time communication. - Additional skills in React Flow, TanStack Table, monitoring tools like Sentry/Datadog, animation libraries like Framer Motion, and visual regression testing with Percy. - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows for efficient project management. Your main objectives will be: - Achieving high performance and low "Time to Interactive" in complex AI-driven interfaces. - Handling asynchronous and streaming AI data flows with intuitive loading states and feedback. - Maintaining high code quality and test coverage in a fast-paced, innovative environment. To qualify for this role, you should have: - A Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). - At least 3 years of professional frontend development experience in building production-grade applications. - A proven track record of writing clean, performant, well-tested, and maintainable code. - Experience in designing and building AI application interfaces. - A strong portfolio or GitHub profile demonstrating expertise in TypeScript, Next.js, React, and AI interfaces.
