Job Description
As a skilled Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting, managing, and troubleshooting a wide range of security solutions across on-premise and cloud environments. You will have strong hands-on expertise in firewall technologies and cloud security platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2-level cyber security support across core technologies including Firewall Management, IDS/IPS, VPN, Proxy, Cloud Native Controls, and Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
- Perform administration, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of security products such as Cisco FTD, Palo Alto Networks, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA), Azure Firewall, Azure WAF, Akamai, and Barracuda.
- Ensure efficient incident handling and escalate complex issues to L3 teams when required.
- Create and maintain documentation, including Known Error Database (KEDB), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and configuration guides.
- Prepare and implement change requests (standard and normal) as per organizational processes.
- Collaborate with L3 teams on major change implementations and upgrades.
- Provide inputs to improve existing SOPs and operational workflows for L1 teams.
- Mentor and groom L1 support teams on technologies, troubleshooting techniques, and security processes.
- Proactively identify recurring issues, contribute to problem management activities, and support efforts to improve SLA compliance and reduce MTTR.
- Handle escalated tickets from L1 teams and ensure timely resolution with adherence to security and operational standards.
- Work effectively in 24x7 rotational shifts to provide round-the-clock security support.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-6 years of hands-on experience in cyber security support across firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, WAF, and cloud security platforms.
Certifications:
**Process Certifications (Desired):**
- ITIL V3/V4 Foundation
**Technology Certifications (Preferred):**
- CCNA Security
- Palo Alto ACE or PCNSE
