Job Description
As an ETL Developer specializing in IBM DataStage, you will be responsible for the following key tasks:
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage to integrate data into Netezza databases.
- Write optimized SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Develop stored procedures, functions, and performance-tuned queries for efficient processing.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency through validation and error handling.
- Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs and database performance issues.
- Work closely with data architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Optimize ETL workflows and SQL queries for performance improvements.
- Implement data governance and security measures per organizational policies.
- Document ETL processes, data flows, and technical specifications for reference.
Qualifications required for this role include:
- 5+ years of experience in ETL development using IBM DataStage.
- Strong expertise in SQL scripting, query optimization, and performance tuning in Netezza.
- Experience in data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL best practices.
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning of SQL queries, indexing, and stored procedures.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux scripting for ETL automation.
- Familiarity with job scheduling tools and data orchestration frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot ETL failures and performance issues.
