Job Description
As an experienced Engineering Manager Marketing Technology, you will play a crucial role in leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams responsible for building, integrating, and operating enterprise marketing platforms. Your responsibilities will include driving technical execution, platform reliability, team development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the efficient delivery of data-driven, personalized, and compliant customer journeys across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and grow cross-functional engineering teams supporting marketing platforms and campaign execution.
- Establish engineering best practices, delivery standards, and performance metrics.
- Support onboarding, coaching, career development, and performance management of engineers.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Platform & Solution Delivery:
- Own the technical delivery and operational excellence of marketing technology platforms, primarily Adobe Campaign Classic (v8), Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), and Adobe Experience Platform (AEP).
- Partner with marketing, creative, and analytics teams to translate campaign requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Oversee end-to-end implementation, enhancement, and support of cross-channel campaigns (email, push, SMS, web, personalization).
- Ensure platforms are reliable, scalable, secure, and compliant with enterprise standards.
Project & Program Management:
- Collaborate with campaign and product leads to plan, prioritize, and execute initiatives using Agile and hybrid delivery models.
- Manage dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines across multiple workstreams.
- Track budgets, resource utilization, and vendor engagements in collaboration with finance and procurement teams.
- Provide clear status updates, metrics, and executive-level reporting.
Martech Architecture & Integrations:
- Lead the integration of Adobe Campaign with AEM, CRM, data platforms, analytics, and third-party marketing tools.
- Oversee tag management implementations using Adobe Launch or Google Tag Manager.
- Drive adoption and migration initiatives, including Adobe Web SDK and modern data collection frameworks.
- Ensure proper data layer design, event modeling, and schema governance.
Data, Analytics & Optimization:
- Partner with analytics teams to enable accurate data capture and reporting via Adobe Analytics and AEP.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability for segmentation, personalization, and performance analysis.
- Enable A/B testing, journey optimization, and experimentation frameworks.
Governance, Security & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and enterprise security policies.
- Define and enforce access controls, consent management, and data governance standards.
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Act as the primary engineering liaison with marketing leadership, creative teams, and external vendors.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical execution.
- Support vendor selection, onboarding, and performance management.
Technical Skills & Expertise:
Core Martech Platforms:
- Adobe Campaign Classic (v8), Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO)
- Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)
- Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) preferred
Engineering & Integration:
- Strong experience with REST APIs, Webhooks, SOAP, and system integrations
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, SQL, and scripting languages for automation and troubleshooting
- Experience integrating marketing platforms with CRM, data warehouses, and CDPs
Data & Analytics:
- Adobe Analytics implementation and reporting
- Tag management: Adobe Launch, Google Tag Manager
- Data layer design, schema mapping, and event-driven architectures
DevOps & Operations:
- CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and release coordination
- Monitoring, logging, and incident management for marketing platforms
- Performance optimization and troubleshooting in production environments
Leadership & Professional Skills:
- Proven experience managing high-performing engineering or platform teams
- Strong project and program management skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to operate effectively under tight deadlines and evolving priorities
- Creative problem-solver with a pragmatic, execution-focused mindset
- Strong collaboration skills across engineering, marketing, analytics, and creative functions
Qualification Required:
