Engineer -Product Engineering Bearings

Role Overview: As an Engineer- Global PE at SKF, your role involves carrying out all engineering activities related to the design of products within the portfolio. Your main objective is to achieve exceptional results through personal effectiveness, partnering with others, and building customer loyalty by fulfilling their needs in an efficient and effective manner. Key Responsibilities: - Create and release engineering drawings & bill of materials using the Engineering Change Management process. - Generate generic models of bearings and use them to produce bearing variants. - Drive activities within the digitalization area to develop future modular design processes for increased speed and quality assurance in design work. - Define and develop engineering requirement specifications for bearing components and assemblies. - Establish project schedules, release drawings for prototypes, initiate Purchase Orders, coordinate with vendors, conduct tests in collaboration with Lab Engineers, and modify designs to meet performance requirements. - Collaborate with Product Development centers to enhance strong engagement. - Conduct design reviews and gain buy-in from all cross-functional teams. - Independently drive projects and multitask without losing effectiveness. - Create/Modify 3D models & drawings based on stakeholder requirements, resolve CAD modeling issues, demonstrate the ability to incorporate Geometric Product Specification (GPS) in product design. - Resolve issues related to Windchill (PDM) activities during the uploading of CAD data, adding attribute values, and creation of WT parts. - Work and manage according to the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process established by respective Product lines. Qualifications Required: - Strong engineering knowledge with 3-5 years of experience. - Experience in conceptual design and development activities from end-to-end solutions. - Proficiency in GD&T, Tolerance stack-up analysis, and Interference calculations. - Proficiency in Modeling, Assembly, and Detailing in Creo for Product Engineering activities. - Knowledge of Design Automation, Map keys, UDFs, Pro-Programming Pro-Toolkit is an added advantage. - Understanding of manufacturing process methodology in Creo, Drawing release process, and ECM Process. - Proficiency in applying Geometric Product Specification (GPS), Tolerances, and knowledge in precision, accuracy, reliability, and traceability. - Knowledge and understanding of Metrology & Metallurgy aspects. - Proficiency in selection of materials based on behavior properties, application of measurement principles for manufacturing & other processes, and manufacturing & machining processes.
