Role Overview:
You will work across the full Linux stack from kernel through GUI to optimize Ubuntu, the world's most widely used Linux desktop and server, for the latest silicon. This is a fast-paced, problem-solving role that is challenging yet very exciting. You must be resourceful, articulate, and able to deliver a wide variety of solutions across PC and IoT technologies. Your day will involve designing and implementing the best Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks, working with partners to deliver an optimized Ubuntu experience, and participating as a technical lead on complex customer engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks
- Collaborate with partners to deliver an optimized Ubuntu experience on their platforms
- Provide inputs on technical plans, testing strategy, and quality metrics for the Ubuntu experience on partner platforms
- Lead technical engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge
- Assist customers in integrating their apps, SDKs, and optimizing applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server
- Work with advanced operating systems and application technologies
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar
- Experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto)
- Experience working with open source communities and licenses
- Experience with C, C++
- Ability to work in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation
