Design Engineer-Civil

Role Overview: As a Civil Design Engineer specializing in Substation projects, your main responsibility will be designing and analyzing various components such as control room buildings, equipment foundations, cable trenches, firewalls, tower foundations, access roads, and gantries. Utilizing tools like STAAD, ETABS, or equivalent software to conduct structural analysis in compliance with relevant codes and standards will be a crucial part of your role. Additionally, preparing and reviewing detailed civil drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical specifications, and design reports will be essential tasks. Key Responsibilities: - Design and analyze components for substation projects such as control room buildings, equipment foundations, cable trenches, firewalls, tower foundations, access roads, and gantries - Utilize tools like STAAD, ETABS, or equivalent software for structural analysis - Prepare and review detailed civil drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical specifications, and design reports - Maintain accurate design records including Design Basis Reports (DBRs) and Design Criteria Inputs (DCIs) - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project management, site execution, clients, consultants, and vendors for approvals and technical clarifications - Provide support to site teams during execution with drawing clarifications and technical guidance - Contribute to pre-bid activities and engineering support by assisting in tender engineering and estimation through preliminary designs, quantity take-offs, and design inputs for proposals - Ensure compliance with national and international standards such as IS, IEC, IEEE, project specifications, and environmental or geotechnical considerations Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Master's degree in Structural Engineering - Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing for substation and/or transmission line projects - Proficiency in software tools like STAAD, ETABS for analysis and design, AutoCAD, REVIT for drafting (preferred), and TEKLA for structural detailing (preferred) - Familiarity with the MS Office Suite Additional Company Details: Omit this section as no additional details of the company are mentioned in the job description.
