Role Overview:
As part of the Careem Grocery team, you will play a crucial role in revolutionizing the grocery, pharmacy, and retail shopping experience. Your primary focus will be on demand forecasting, demand variability management, sales, and operations planning (S&OP), reporting, inventory management, collaborative forecasting, data analysis, continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and utilization of systems and tools to optimize the supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights to develop accurate demand forecasts for the quick commerce groceries business.
- Develop strategies to manage and mitigate demand volatility, considering seasonality, promotions, and external market influences.
- Lead the S&OP process by aligning demand and supply plans, identifying gaps, and developing action plans to meet business objectives.
- Prepare and present demand planning reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to senior management and stakeholders.
- Plan and manage inventory levels efficiently while collaborating with suppliers and logistics teams to optimize inventory replenishment processes.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to gather input and align on demand forecasts, ensuring collaboration with sales, marketing, and product teams.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to identify patterns and drivers of demand, utilizing statistical models and forecasting tools.
- Monitor demand planning processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to optimize forecasting accuracy, inventory turnover, and supply chain efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution of demand plans, providing support for new product launches, promotions, and supply chain initiatives.
- Leverage advanced demand planning tools and statistical forecasting software to enhance forecasting accuracy and automate processes where applicable.
Qualification Required:
- Passionate commitment to improving the lives of people, with a focus on excellence and customer centricity.
- At least 4+ years of experience in a supply chain role or similar, preferably in tech, logistics, or a start-up environment.
- Bachelors in Engineering, with a focus on Supply Chain or Operations Management is a plus.
- Strong analytical capabilities and mastery of Excel are required, with bonus points for technical ability in SQL.
- Grittiness and high attention to detail are essential, along with speed of execution for daily operational follow-ups.
- Strong communication skills are necessary to interact with all levels of Supplier & DC operation teams.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to self-serve, investigate, and acquire necessary data for effective performance in the role. Role Overview:
