Key responsibilities:

- Define and enforce standards for indexing, partitioning, backup/restore, high availability, and disaster recovery in a mission-critical financial environment.
- Implement security best practices on AWS and Elastic (encryption, IAM/roles, network segregation, auditing) aligned with financial-services regulations and client policies.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders (engineering, data, product, compliance) and Arenema colleagues to drive continuous improvement of the client's data platform.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 46+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Engineer, Data Engineer, or Backend Engineer with a strong database focus, ideally in consulting or product environments.
- Strong SQL skills and production experience with at least one major RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle).
- Practical experience with AWS database and data services (RDS/Aurora, Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash/Beats) for search, logging, metrics, or analytics in production environments.
- Proven experience in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and capacity planning for high-volume systems.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and models for analytics, BI, or financial reporting.
- Good understanding of security, access control, and data protection in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
