Data Scientist

You will be joining Khan Academy, a fast-paced nonprofit startup with a mission to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. As an experienced data scientist, your role will involve partnering with the India schools team to drive engagement with the product and improve student outcomes. Here are the key responsibilities for this role: - Identify and measure success of school team initiatives through goal setting, forecasting, monitoring, and ongoing analysis of core outcome metrics. - Perform advanced exploratory analyses on large sets of data to extract insights about teacher & learner behavior and guide decisions around investments and initiatives. - Collaborate with engineering teams to improve tools and datasets, working self-sufficiently with data pipelines as needed. - Utilize expertise in experimentation (AB testing, causal inference) to measure the impact of various programs and interventions. - Contribute to the development of analytics tools and data applications to enhance data access for the schools' success team. - Collaborate with efficacy researchers to provide curated datasets and/or dashboards for measuring learner outcomes. To be successful in this role, you should have: - A passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact. - Background in applied math, statistics, economics, or a related technical field. - 2-4 years of experience in data science or analytics. - Strong SQL foundations & ability to manipulate data using Python. - Strong data storytelling, visualization, and communication abilities. - Knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques for real-world applications. - Flexibility to periodically visit the office in Delhi NCR to interact with the Schools team.
