As a Data Modeler specializing in Azure Databricks with expertise in Medallion Architecture, your role involves designing and delivering logical and physical data models to support Data Engineers in development with clarity and precision. Your responsibilities include: - Data Modelling & Design: - Developing Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models. - Defining schemas, entities, attributes, relationships, keys, constraints, and data types. - Providing DDL-ready SQL definitions for implementation. - Clearly defining fact table grain and dimensional structures. - Azure Databricks Medallion Modelling: - Designing structured models across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers. - Defining transformation logic across layers and incorporating Delta Lake best practices. - Advanced Modelling Techniques: - Demonstrating expertise in 3rd Normal Form (3NF), Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Data Vault. - Clearly defining Fact grain, Surrogate key strategy, Slowly Changing Dimensions, Conformed dimensions, and Aggregation strategy. - Engineering & Governance Alignment: - Ensuring models are build-ready for Data Engineering teams. - Reviewing implementation alignment with design. - Maintaining ER diagrams, data dictionary, and mapping documents. - Enforcing enterprise naming standards and modelling best practices. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of hands-on Data Modelling experience. - Strong SQL skills including DDL, partitioning, and performance concepts. - Proven experience in Azure Databricks and Delta Lake environments. - Deep understanding of Medallion Architecture. - Experience in enterprise Data Warehouse or Modern Data Platform projects. - Proficiency with data modelling tools such as ERwin, ER Studio, PowerDesigner, Lucidchart, or similar.
