Job Description
As a Firewall Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating NGFW policies, NAT, security profiles, and segmentation. You will manage App ID/User ID for Palo Alto and Identity Awareness for Check Point. Additionally, you will configure Threat Prevention profiles including IPS, Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, and URL filtering. Your role will involve planning and executing rulebase audits, clean ups, and optimization to reduce risk and latency. Furthermore, you will perform upgrades, HA/cluster configuration, health checks, and performance tuning. Troubleshooting tasks will include addressing L3L7 connectivity, asymmetric routing, path MTU, and SSL/TLS inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and operate NGFW policies, NAT, security profiles, and segmentation
- Manage App ID/User ID for Palo Alto and Identity Awareness for Check Point
- Configure Threat Prevention profiles: IPS, Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, URL filtering
- Plan and execute rulebase audits, clean ups, and optimization
- Perform upgrades, HA/cluster configuration, health checks, and performance tuning
- Troubleshoot L3L7 connectivity, asymmetric routing, path MTU, SSL/TLS inspection
In the WAF & Edge Security domain, you will configure Cloudflare WAF, manage CDN, DDoS protection, and Zero Trust policies for applications. Your responsibilities will include implementing API protection, mTLS, and secure token-based access for services. You will optimize performance and caching while ensuring application security. Monitoring attack patterns, false positives, and tuning rules based on application behavior will be part of your daily tasks.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Firewall Engineering with Fortigate, Check Point, and Palo Alto
- Proficiency in managing NGFW policies, NAT, security profiles, and segmentation
- Strong troubleshooting skills in L3L7 connectivity, asymmetric routing, path MTU, SSL/TLS inspection
