Job Description
Role Overview:
You are an experienced Credit Compliance professional joining a leading private sector bank to strengthen the credit compliance and regulatory framework across lending businesses. This strategic leadership role involves working closely with senior stakeholders, risk teams, and regulators to ensure adherence to regulatory standards. Your primary responsibility will be to review credit proposals, evaluate credit policies, provide advisory support, guide credit monitoring teams, support fraud monitoring, stay updated with regulatory changes, coordinate during audits, liaise with regulators, and drive implementation of new regulatory circulars related to lending and credit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review credit proposals placed before the Credit Committee and identify regulatory gaps or discrepancies.
- Evaluate credit policies, procedures, and internal documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead and mentor a team responsible for maintaining a strong compliance and control framework across business groups.
- Provide advisory support on lending and credit-related matters from a compliance perspective.
- Guide credit monitoring teams on EWS parameters, CRILC reporting, LDS, and other regulatory submissions.
- Support Fraud Monitoring Group on fraud reporting and RFA-related matters.
- Stay updated with regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation of new guidelines.
- Coordinate with stakeholders during regulatory audits and provide necessary data and insights.
- Address regulatory inspection observations and identify root causes of non-compliance.
- Liaise with regulators for clarifications and collaborate with Risk and Internal Audit teams on compliance matters.
- Conduct testing and monitoring of high-risk credit areas to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Drive implementation of new regulatory circulars related to lending and credit.
Qualification Required:
- Qualification: CA / MBA
- Experience: Relevant experience in Credit Compliance / Risk / Regulatory functions within Banking
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and banking compliance requirements
