Associate - Data Engineering

Role Overview: You will be joining the PWM Data Engineering team at Goldman Sachs, where you will play a crucial role in building tools and applications to support the Private Wealth Management business. Your responsibilities will involve enhancing the data distribution platform, managing high volumes of requests, and collaborating with various engineering teams to develop data feeds and processing pipelines. Additionally, you will work closely with the global user group to support and enhance applications to meet new requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Propose, design, and implement software solutions to enhance services and enable new business functions - Perform hands-on development, participate in architecture and design discussions, and design reviews - Collaborate with other engineering teams to develop data feeds, APIs, and processing pipelines - Support and enhance applications to meet new requirements by working closely with the global user group - Analyze and convert business requirements into technical specifications by understanding business workflows Qualifications Required: - Bachelors or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience) - 3 years of experience in Java & J2EE frameworks - Solid understanding of object-oriented skills and frameworks - Experience with producing scalable software designs - Experience in Spring, REST services, JMS, Hibernate/JPA, JSON - Experience working with SQL-based databases like Sybase or MemSQL - Experience with designing/delivering messaging-based solutions (e.g. Kafka) - Experience with cloud migration and/or designing and supporting native cloud applications (preferably AWS) - Experience working with CI/CD, GIT, Jira methodologies - Strong sense of ownership, focus on quality, responsiveness, efficiency, and innovation - Strong communication skills (in person, phone, and email) - Capable of working with a global team and thriving in a team development environment - Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with real-world business issues Additional Details: Goldman Sachs Engineering Culture fosters an environment where engineers can make things possible by connecting people and capital with ideas.
