Job Description
As an Assistant Manager/Manager in Applied Behavioral Research, your role will involve conducting research related to investing, retirement planning, risk behavior, savings, and spending. This will include designing and executing surveys, experiments, and data analyses to understand investor preferences, beliefs, and decision-making patterns. You will be responsible for analyzing large datasets using statistical and analytical tools to generate actionable insights. Additionally, you will develop behavioral frameworks and models to explain investor behavior across segments and over time. Collaboration with product, marketing, and sales teams will be essential to embed behavioral insights into product design, investor communication, and advisor tools. Furthermore, translating research findings into clear, practical recommendations for internal stakeholders and preparing research summaries, reports, and presentations for senior management and internal forums will be key aspects of your role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct applied behavioral and consumer research related to investing, retirement planning, risk behavior, savings, and spending.
- Design and execute surveys, experiments, and data analyses to understand investor preferences, beliefs, and decision-making patterns.
- Analyze large datasets using statistical and analytical tools to generate actionable insights.
- Develop behavioral frameworks and models to explain investor behavior across segments and over time.
- Partner with product, marketing, and sales teams to embed behavioral insights into product design, investor communication, and advisor tools.
- Translate research findings into clear, practical recommendations for internal stakeholders.
- Prepare research summaries, reports, and presentations for senior management and internal forums.
- Support thought leadership initiatives through articles, whitepapers, or conference participation (as relevant).
Key Performance Indicators:
- Number of behavioral research projects completed and delivered on time.
- Quality of actionable insights adopted by internal teams (product, marketing, sales).
- Number of behavioral frameworks or tools developed and implemented.
- Stakeholder feedback on clarity and usefulness of research outputs.
- Contribution to thought leadership (articles, presentations, or workshops conducted).
Competencies Required:
- Strong grounding in statistical methods such as regression analysis, experimental design, survey analysis, and basic modeling.
- Technical skills: Hands-on experience with analytical tools such as Python, R or equivalent and data mining and analytics capability.
- Experience designing surveys and working with primary and secondary research data.
- Ability to communicate complex behavioral insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Strong interest in investing, financial markets, and investor behavior.
Preferred / Good to Have:
- Experience in asset management, wealth management, financial services, or adjacent sectors.
- Exposure to product development, digital journeys, or investor communication design.
- Familiarity with behavioral finance concepts and real-world application.
- Experience contributing to research publications, reports, or internal knowledge assets.
