Job Description
As a candidate for the position at our largest insurance brokerage client, you should have a minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, specifically in UK GAAP and US GAAP. Your role will involve the following key responsibilities:
- Producing management accounts in both Sun and JDE ledgers, providing detailed ME commentary, Balance Sheet reconciliations, and substantiations. You will need to work with stakeholders to investigate issues for resolution, including coordinating nonstandard transactions across the two different ledgers.
- Collaborating with accountants responsible for completing transactional accounting entries to ensure accuracy and address potential issues.
- Assisting the Senior Manager in producing accurate management accounts and relevant commentary within tight reporting deadlines.
- Liaising closely with regional finance teams, primarily in Europe and North America, on results and reporting.
- Preparing and reviewing reconciliations to verify the accuracy of management accounts, conducting monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date variance analysis to budget and prior year on P&L.
- Preparing and reviewing monthly reporting packs, as well as producing and reviewing ad hoc reporting as requested.
- Maintaining the local general ledger in the Sun accounting system and reconciling it with the group general ledger.
- Providing assistance and support in response to external and internal audit requests.
- Assisting with the internal overhead allocations process for Europe to ensure that all costs are captured and allocated as per agreed allocation keys.
- Liaising with the processing team to control the posting of month-end journal transactions and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Carrying out duties in compliance with internal policies and procedures, applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance, and shared values, particularly focusing on putting clients at the heart of the business.
Your qualifications and experience should include:
- Being a Qualified CA with over 4 years of experience in accounting.
- Mandatory knowledge of Accounting, Financial statements, balance sheet, GL, P&L, Financial reporting, and Statutory reporting.
- Mandatory knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS.
Preferred technical knowledge includes:
- Experience with US GAAP.
- Background in professional services.
- Experience with SOX.
- Experience in project management or implementing new processes and/or controls.
