Job Description
As an Application Engineer at the Solutions Center of Excellence in GECIA, your role is crucial in supporting low pressure municipal projects from the AGA division for global customer centers OFA, IAT, and AGA within CTBA. You will be the key technical advisor and product advocate, actively driving and managing the tendering specifications of wastewater treatment projects. Your responsibilities include:
- Being the first point of contact for regional business development managers for wastewater treatment projects.
- Reading, understanding, and interpreting technical specifications, translating them into a concise summary.
- Selecting the correct technology from the Low Pressure product portfolio for specific tenders.
- Developing, preparing, and writing technical proposals for blower systems and solutions.
- Conducting thermodynamic and mechanical calculations using proprietary design software.
- Ensuring compliance with customer technical specifications and identifying deviations.
- Presenting solutions in a competitive manner and ensuring the completeness and correctness of the scope of supply.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An Engineering Degree with 5-8 years of industry experience in roles such as Sales Engineer, Process Engineer, Design Engineer, Application Engineer, or Project Engineer.
- Solid understanding of basic Mechanical systems, electrical systems, and instrumentation control systems.
- Knowledge of various engineering documents and working with compressors, blowers, rotating equipment, and turbo machinery.
- Familiarity with wastewater treatment processes and the need for compressed air.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as CAD, PLM, SAP, and CPQ.
- Ideally, experience with Atlas Copco proprietary software like Airchitect, PASEL, Dryer Selection Tool, and Blower selection tool.
- Knowledge of using AI tools in proposal activities would be beneficial.
In addition to technical qualifications, your personality requirements include being a team player, having a positive attitude, flexibility, a commercial approach, strong customer focus, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Fluency in English, both oral and written, is essential.
